In this video from the 2022 Detroit Autorama held in Detroit MI, I catch up with the 2022 Don Ridler Award winner the 1931 Chevrolet “SHO Bird”. When this car came out of the trailer You knew it was a Ridler contender.. If not a obvious Great 8 winner…It’s covered in a candy wineberry paint and trimmed in Orange glow paint, With several shades of both colors used to blend them together. The interior is as custom as the rest of the car with body colors used throughout…Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…The ones that Pro comp Customs chose work well for Me. The whole car from front to back…Top to bottom is custom….It’s powered by a Twin Turbo 509 Big Block and they mounted the 72mm Turbos out front…Like where the bumper would be!?!?!…I have never seen anything close to this 1931 Chevrolet Independence Coupe from the 2022 Detroit Autorama…The amount of detail is just crazy…The underside is just as crazy and just as custom as the rest of the car. Bruce tells Me that they have over 20,000 hours in building this work of art…I’m a fan for sure and I am sure You will be to…The 1931 Chevrolet Independence Coupe “SHO Bird” , The 2022 Don Ridler Award winner from the 2022 Detroit Autorama…Check it out!!!

In this video from the National Corvette Museum located in Blowing Green KY, I check out the 1965 XP-819 Chevrolet Corvette Prototype…Known as the Ugly Duckling….Zora’s first impression!! This was My first visit to the National Corvette Museum, I grew up in a Chevrolet house with the Corvette being the best of the best…My Dad had several and even bought a 1974 new that He kept around 20 years. So even though I had never visited the National Corvette Museum…I had driven past it several times and had always wanted to check it out..One of the things that surprised Me was that Zora Arkus-Duntov was all about the Mid Engine Chevrolet Corvette…From the day He was hired at General Motors…He knew that mounting the engine mid platform was the best setup for a sports car or performance car…This prototype from 1965 is not even His first attempt…In 2020 Chevrolet introduced the C8 Corvette and it is Mid Engine…Zora never got to see His dream hit the street, But You can see that He was way ahead of His time in this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette XP-819 Prototype from the National Corvette Museum…Very cool for sure…Check it out!!!

In this video from the 2021 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas NV, I catch up with what I believe to be a 1937 International Heavy Duty Hot Rod Street Truck…I couldn’t find a ton of information on it…But I can tell You whatever it is…It is very cool….I don’t think this is what it looked like back in the day…I feel there has been a ton of fabrication work done to it…It’s covered in a deep black paint with just a little chrome and red accenting it…The interior is red with a red and black Houndstooth insert….The interior is Hot Rod custom and fits the build perfectly. Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…The steel wheels with chrome beauty rings and center caps work well with the old school cool look of the rest of this 1937 International Heavy Duty Hot Rod Street Truck from the 2021 SEMA Show. It way laying on the ground so I was unable to see what’s happening under there but from the look of the rest of the truck I would expect it to be upgraded to the latest technology and finished to a nice level. This 1937 International Heavy Duty Hot Rod Street Truck from the 2021 SEMA Show is way cool for sure…Check it out!!!

In this video from Big Oak Garage in Hokes Bluff AL, I catch up with Will Posey and check out their latest build, this 1961 Chevrolet Impala Custom Rod…Dan Duffy’s “Dirty Martini”…Dan had a Impala back in the day and He has had several cars since…But He always wanted to do another Impala. He had a Friend that Built some of His other Custom Cars that always wanted to Wedge Cut a Impala with Dan…By the time Dan was ready…His buddy didn’t have in Him to take on such a extensive project. Dan had Big Oak Garage do some work for Him in the past, and after He and Will had some conversations about doing a Impala….Will was sent to find the Car they would start with. The 1961 Impala He found was in pretty good shape and was a project that had been started by it’s current owner…That was a couple of years back…2022…It’s finished and the work is incredible. This 1961 Chevrolet Impala is covered in it’s own Dirty Martini green color trimmed in a off white…There are a ton of body modifications that the casual fan of the bubble top Impala won’t see..That’s why we got a stock bodied 1961 Chevrolet Impala to set next to it on part of this video…The leather interior is all custom and the color is a exact match to the rest of the trim color…Wheels are one off custom that I’m sure not everyone will like…But that I absolutely love…Under the custom hood is a very cleanly installed polished 509 W block V-8 with a lot of custom panel work….The underside is just as nice as the top…Painted in both colors making it a true work of art…This 1961 Chevrolet Impala from Big Oak Garage is as custom of a bubble top Chevrolet Impala as I have seen…Very cool for sure…Check it out!!

In this video from the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners MI, I wrap up My first visit. I have posted several other videos that I filmed on this visit and in this the last one, This video is made up of clips that I shot that didn’t fit into the other videos..The Gilmore Car Museum is such a awesome place that I didn’t want Y’all not to get the complete tour…If You have never been to the Gilmore Car Museum it’s a place you have to visit…Even if You are not a complete gearhead…They have a ton of transportation history to see and they do a very good job at presenting in a way that makes learning fun..The Gilmore Car Museum is on a beautiful 90 Acres piece of land in the middle of miles of corn fields and is worth a visit just to set up under a tree and unwind…The Gilmore Car Museum has several events every year…Even in the winter time when it is cold in Michigan, they come up with cool things to attend. Check their Facebook page and Website for a list of different events…Dates and times…I really enjoyed My first visit to the Gilmore Car Museum and hope to go back in 2022…Very cool place for sure…Check it out!!!

In this video from the 2021 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas NV, I catch up with this 1974 Plymouth Duster. I have been a closet Duster fan since I was a kid…I’m out now and like to shoot the cool ones I find…This 1974 Duster is covered in a bright orange paint with satin black accents…A aggressive look that it wears well…The interior has been upgraded to a modern look…Not a full blow custom leather interior…But some nice over the counter seat covers on some modern seats….Works well with the rest of the build IMHO….Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone. This 1974 Plymouth Duster from the 2021 SEMA Show was built to drive and the wheels play into the aggressive look of the rest of the car…Black steelies….You really can’t go wrong…Under the hood is a cleanly installed Gen 3 HEMI…The suspension and brakes have all been upgraded…Like I said I believe this 1974 Plymouth Duster from the 2021 SEMA Show was built so it can be driven daily.. I know if I owned it….I would!!…Very cool for sure…Check it out!!

In this video from the 2022 Detroit Autorama I set down with Mike Copeland of Arrington Performance and talk with Him about the 1948 Chevrolet 3100 that He has running on Hydrogen. Mike has a mind-blowing resume that includes working for Ford and General Motors…Mike was head of the development of the ZL1 Camaro and CSTV Cadillac. As He tells Me He had a incredible team to help with both these projects…But When General Motors had the ideas…Mike is who they came to, to make them reality….He left General Motors and was the Vice President of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering before buying Arrington Performance and heading out on His own. Arrington Performance is now at the forefront of developing a retrofit package to covert vehicles that now burn gas and diesel fuel to ones that will run on zero emission Hydrogen. I know the first thing people think of when they hear Hydrogen is the Hindenburg disaster…It’s one of the first question I ask Mike in this interview…The answer will put You at ease with the safety of Hydrogen fuel. I think that after You listen to this whole interview You will be a Hydrogen fan…Very interesting and exciting information and Information that I think could make a big difference in everyone’s life going forward. I’m a Big fan and I think You will be to….Check it out!!

In this video from the 2021 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas NV, I check out the Chip Foose Design Collection. At the 2021 SEMA Show they had Custom Car builder Chip Foose bring in several of His past builds and have them on display. Usually the builder will keep a car a year or so when it is finished to show it and get the car seen, Then the owner takes them home and they live out their lives in the hands of the owner…It is very rare that several builds will get back together at any point. So with Chip Foose being a very popular American Custom Car builder and TV Show Host, The 2021 SEMA Show worked hard and got several of His past builds together again…I didn’t do any feature on these cars at this show…But I have shot several of Chip Foose Design builds in the past…I thought it was a very cool display and people that were not there would want to see it…and I’m always glad to record Custom Car history…Hope You enjoy the Chip Foose Design display from the 2021 SEMA Show…Check it out!!!!

In this video from the 2021 NSRA Street Rod Nationals held in Louisville KY, I catch up with this very cool…very clean 1971 Chevrolet Camaro done in a Pro Touring style….WOW!!..What a car…Covered in mile deep black paint…With just the right amount of chrome…and a touch of red….to give it some pop!! And then You look inside…Mind blown!!!…It has the highly popular Camaro Camaro material used on the seats back in the 80’s…I’m such a fan of that interior….and the second gen Camaro is my favorite generation Chevrolet Camaro. Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…I’m good with the ones they chose to run on this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro from the 2021 National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals….The stance in nailed!!…Under the hood the cool just keeps coming…Not sure exactly what Chevrolet engine they are running….But the detail and the cleanliness of the install is incredible…The suspension and brakes have been upgraded, Because You can tell this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro from the 2021 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Louisville was built to drive…the sticker on the front window says it has been part of the Power Tour…One very cool 2nd Generation Chevrolet Camaro from the 2021 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Check it out!!!

In this video from the Detroit Autorama Custom Car Show held in Detroit MI, I catch up with Garret’s Rod Shop just as they debut the Speedstar Body “P33 Venom” Custom Street Rod…Garret’s Rod Shop started with a Speedstar body, that they made several custom changes too…Adding a rumble seat being the biggest, but just the first of many changes they made. The body is covered in a Army green color paint that they have brought to a very high gloss….Giving it a totally different look than we’re used to seeing on military equipment…The custom leather interior was done by Pro Auto Custom Interiors by Steve Holcomb….It has a Military Aircraft theme that works perfect with the rest of the build…Wheels are a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…The one off custom ones that Garret chose to run on the P33 Venom work well for Me…Under the custom hood is a custom installed LS 376 and a lot of custom panel work…Over 100 separate pieces just to make the intake…The underside of the P33 Venom is just as nice as the top and finished to the same high shine…The P33 Venom built by Garret’s Rod Shop from the 2022 Detroit Autorama custom Car Show is one very cool Street Rod for sure…Check it out!!
