In this video from Nichols Paint and Fab in Watseka IL, I check out a 1946 Chevrolet Pickup Truck that they are building while it’s still in bare metal. This is a very special project they are building for a California Police Officer that was injured in the line of duty. This 1946 Chevrolet Hot Rod Truck is going to be driven by hand controls ..Nichols Paint and Fab is also going to incorporate some other features to make it so that this client can take full advantage of all this truck has to offer. There are a ton of body modifications made to this 1946 Chevrolet truck and being in bare metal, you think you would be able to see where all the modification were made….You can see a couple that will be addressed before going into paint and body…But most, even in bare metal…You can’t see…Justin Nichols of Nichols Paint and Fab tells Me that they are shooting to have it ready to debut Spring of 2023…I hope in time to debut it at the 2023 ScottieDTV Dirty Dozen that is part of the 2023 Pigeon Forge Rod Run…So stick around!!!…No matter where this 1946 Chevrolet Hot Rod Truck from Nichols Paint and Fab comes out at…I’m sure it’s going to be a hit…Check it out!!!

In this video from the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals held in Columbus OH, I have the 2022 Goodguys Street Machine of The Year Parade and their laps on the Autocross track. In order to compete for the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association Street Machine of The Year , The entry has to attempt to make a lap around the Goodguys Autocross Track. There is no time limit and even if You aren’t able to complete the lap…You will still be considered for the Street Machine of The Year Award…The point is to see that they will go and stop…and make a turn..There has to be some understanding that these are all very expensive builds, Some have very few miles on them since they were completed, so a breakdown can happen without being disqualified. There are several manufactures represented in the 2022 Goodguys Street Machine Competition..Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac Firebird, Dodge Challenger, even a Tri Five Chevrolet and a Buick…I always enjoy covering this event the Goodguys Rod & Custom Summit Racing Nationals held in Columbus Oh is always a great event and this year was no exception….The 2022 Goodguys Rod and Custom 2022 Street Machine of The Year Parade and Lap on the Autocross track…Check it out!!!

In this video from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway, I catch up with this 1971 Chevrolet C/10 Pickup from Rutterz Rodz…”Waylon”.. The laser straight, perfectly gapped body is covered in a lite Beige paint with white trim, A color combination that it wears well. The interior is custom and covered in a dark brown leather…Although it’s custom, it’s not over the top…Still has the look of a high end pickup truck interior. Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…I really dig the color matched to the interior ones Rutterz Rodz chose to run on this 71 Chevy C/10…Under the hood is a 402 Big Block just as the truck came from the factory, Just a much cleaner install and a much higher finish on the components. The suspension and brakes have been upgraded to modern technology and finished to a high level…This 1971 Chevrolet C/10 pickup from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway has not had any body modifications….It’s not a wild and crazy custom…What it is a very clean…Very cool truck that could be driven daily…I’m a BIG fan and I am sure You will be to Check it out!!!

In this video from the Nichols Paint and Fab open house, I catch up with this 1986 Pontiac Fiero “Ratero” This isn’t your run of the mill Pontiac Fiero…Even though it’s covered in a bright yellow paint, that is not what first draws your attention…The first thing you notice is the 427 Big Block sticking out of the hood…I have shot a couple Pontiac Fieros that have been swapped with a SBC, Usually a LS, But I have never found one with a Big Block Chevy that has been moved to the front of the car…The next thing You may notice is that it is a convertible….They never made a Convertible Pontiac fiero…That conversion took some work…The silver leather interior is custom also, Nothing over the top…But fits the rest of the build well….Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…The ones they chose to run on this 1986 Pontiac Fiero work fine for Me…I mean you really don’t see much of this car once you see that 427 Chevrolet Big Block coming through the whole in the hood…Suspension and brakes have all been upgraded to handle the increased performance of this Pontiac Fiero Convertible…There has been a ton of work done to this 1986 Pontiac Fiero, and it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea…I dig the different and I dig good work….This 1986 Pontiac Fiero from the Nichols Paint and Fab Open House is defiantly different and like it or not…You got to give a thumbs up to the quality of work done to it….I thought it was cool…I think You will to…Check it out!!

In this video from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway, I catch up with this 1958 Ford Pickup. “Frigid” This 58 Ford Pickup is custom from the front to the rear….It appeared first at the SEMA Show back a few years ago in bare metal..Then the project was sold and sent to another custom shop to be finished…It’s covered in Wimbledon White Paint…A original Ford color and has a custom mix Orange and Grey trim.. The colors work very well on this build and the Orange gives the other two colors a little personality…The interior is all leather and custom..The orange trim color carries through with a darker Grey leather…A touch of nickel plated trim gives it very modern and very cool look. Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…I dig the custom ones they chose to run on this 1958 Ford Pickup from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway…Under the all custom hood is a 2nd Gen Supercharged Ford 5.0 Coyote cleanly installed with a lot of custom metal work…Suspension and brakes have all been upgraded to modern technology and finished to the same high level as the rest of the truck. This Custom 1958 Ford Pickup from the 2022 Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway is very well done and very cool…Check it out!!!

In this video from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway, I catch up with this 1963 AMC Rambler American Wagon Wide Body Autocross Car…..A four door wagon as a race car? Suzy Bauter the owner and driver tells Me that when She did the research that a small wagon dimensions were a good fit for racing autocross…The ratio of width to length equaled some of the cars that were known to handle well…The Wide Bodied Wagon is covered in a medium blue color paint with a white roof …The interior has everything you need to go fast and yet still has most of the factory seating and trim..You could still take a few friends with You on a hot lap if You wanted to..This 1963 Rambler Wagon from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals was built to do just one thing though….Turn fast laps. The original engine has been swapped for the 5.3 L Chevrolet Truck Engine…There is a sweet spot when it comes to horsepower and racing autocross…The LS 5.3 L does the job well…This 1963 AMC Rambler American Wagon wide body Autocross Car from the 2022 Goodguys Nashville Nationals held at the Nashville Superspeedway has to be a blast to drive. In this video from Nichols Paint and Fab in Watseka IL, I tour their new 40,000 + sq ft facility. I met the Nichols Paint and Fab crew back when it was a crew of two..Justin and Maegan. A lot has changed over the last 10 years…They have had a successful TV show in Wrenched…They have built several award winning car and trucks…I visited a coupe of years back and they had just acquired a second shop that was just for paint and body…That still wasn’t enough square feet for all that they want to do…So in June of 2022 they opened their brand new 40,000+ Square Feet…Open a catalog, Dreamed about all of Justin’s life….Going to work everyday thinking it was just a dream…But one if He had the chance to do He would…Awesomeness!!…Now Nichols Paint and Fab is not just a place to get a cool custom car or truck built…They now have a speed shop…Not only will they get you the parts…They will professionally install them…If they need to be painted to match…They have you covered there also…Looking for a new hobby. Maybe already into the R/C Scene?…Watseka’s largest hobby shop….Inside the new Nichols Paint and Fab facility…There is also a beautiful show room to display some of their custom creations…And that’s all in addition to a full service, if You can dream it…We can build it Fabrication Shop…I have visited several Custom Hot Rod Shops over the years and the new Nichols Paint and Fab Shop is not only one of the nicest…It is one of the largest…The cars I shoot are cool and the shops that build them are all cool to…The new Nichols Paint and Fab Shop in Watseka IL…Check it out!!!

In this video from Indy Street Rods & Classics, I stop by and check out their latest build, this One Off 1959 Chevrolet Convertible “CraZ06″ …It’s body is covered in a custom mix red paint that is Red!…Not a neon red…This red has body…Just a very cool Red…Red!…Darren tells Me that they did a bunch of spray outs to get just the correct shade. All the trim along with the wheels is covered in a graphite color grey, giving this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette a Speed Racer look that I really dig. The custom color matched to the trim, leather interior and black convertible top, were done by none other than Steve Holcomb Pro Auto Custom Interiors..So You know that is going to fit the build perfectly. Old school cool with a touch of modern..Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone…I dig the color matched to the trim Forgeline wheels they chose to run on this 1959 Chevrolet Convertible from Indy Street Rods and Classics. Under the hood is the latest ZO6 Engine the LT4…Cleanly installed and color matched to the trim. Tube chassis.. latest suspension and Brakes to make sure this 59 Vette drive as well as it looks. There are also several body modifications made…That give it a different….But not sure what,? look that works really well.. I drove a long way in one to shoot this one for Y’all…I was sure You would love it..The 1959 Chevrolet Convertible”CraZ06” from Indy Street Rods and Classics…Check it out!!!
